JC Shurburtt is the former National College Football Recruiting Director for 247Sports. He also has covered college football and recruiting for ESPN.com andrivals.com during his career. As one of the most-respected voices on college football, Shurburtt has been featured in publications like the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Sports Illustrated, The Sporting News, The Washington Post, Miami Herald, Seattle Times, Arizona Republic, Dallas Morning News, Orlando Sentinel and a host of other major outlets for his opinions on college football recruiting. Shurburtt also has been involved with daily sports talk radio since 2008, when he launched the successful local talk show “The Box” in Columbia, S.C. Currently, Shurburtt owns and operates TheBigSpur.com, a site devoted to covering University of South Carolina athletics, and writes about recruiting on a freelance basis. A graduate of USC Upstate who attended Byrnes High School in Duncan (and is a proud Rebel), Shurburtt resides in Greenville.
Lonzo started his radio career in 1998 at 98.1 the Peak, running braves baseball games and producing sports shows on the weekend. In 2000 he began working at WORD as producer and as co-host on The Gamecock Warmup show, which became The Warmup and finally The Scoreboard. Over a span of 16 years he was the voice of football on Word on Saturday nights. When ESPN Upstate started, Lonzo was there at the beginning. He is Executive Producer for both WORD and ESPN Upstate, producer and Co-host for the Huddle, and host of the Friday Night Wrap during high school football season. Lonzo played wrestled, ran track, and pole vaulted in high school. He played football in high school and college. Lonzo is a Buckeye, Gamecocks, Chiefs, and Panther fan and loves all sports.
